Once you have completed your initial assessment for Help Me Stop rehab London and decided to join one of our programmes we start out by scheduling your days and times of attendance. Each person must commit to a 6 week programme and decide what stream they want to attend - mornings, afternoons or evenings.
The face to face programme is undertaken in 2 phases. Phase 1 last 4 weeks and requires daily attendance Monday to Friday and Phase 2 last 2 weeks and requires just 3 days of attendance.
If you have decided to do the online programme then this takes six weeks to complete and consists of around 11 hours of treatment every week (Mon - Fri) split into 5 x 2 1/4 hour blocks per day.
When you first arrive, we will undertake an induction with you and then introduce you to the other people in the programme with you and the therapy team before starting your group work. You will be working with other clients in drug rehab and alcohol rehab so you will have a built-in support group for the duration of your treatment. If you want to learn more please contact us today.
A detox may be necessary for some of our clients. Depending on your needs we could recommend a residential detox at a specialist rehab centre or a home detox. We have a list of preferred providers who can offer the best detox solutions to fit your needs.
The type of detox we suggest is largely determined by what we learn in our initial assessment. We want to make sure all of our clients are safe and well cared for. To do that detox may be medically necessary as it can be dangerous to simply stop drinking or drugs without help.
If you would like to know more about our detox, please contact us today.
Everyone takes something different away from their rehab centre experience but there are some fundamental tools we give to all our clients. These are the tools of recovery and they help you navigate your world and avoid relapse. These tools include:
Rehab is not a cure. Someone with an addiction does not suddenly lose that addiction after rehab. The rehabilitation process teaches people how to deal with their addiction and build a life free from the substance they were addicted to. For example, when someone with an alcohol addiction leaves rehab, they have the tools to live a life without needing to drink. They have not suddenly developed the ability to drink responsibly.
People who leave rehab thinking they can go back to using will almost certainly relapse. That is why organisations like AA have the saying, “Once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic.”
It is also important to remember that addiction has both a physical and a mental element. Someone can have a physical drug addiction. When they stop using they will feel sick and may even need to be hospitalised. Someone can also be psychologically addicted to a drug. It may be the only way they know how to deal with negative emotions or escape other mental health issues. Rehab can treat both of these facets of addiction but it can not erase them. If you are interested in learning more about our rehab clinic you can contact us today. We can create a treatment plan, provide support and give you the rehab treatment you need.
